My world is made up of my husband and two little boys– Kip (hubby), Kyler (he’s 4) and Kollin (he’s 2). I’m the odd ball out– only woman and I don’t have a “K” name!! Hopefully down the road a year or two we can work to even those odds out!! 🙂 But another boy would be amazing too!!!
As mentioned above, I’ve been married to the love of my life for 7 years (May 10, 2008)– we met at college at Morningside 10 years ago and have been together since! He is from Utah (I’m his only wife!!) and he loved Iowa while he was here for college so I was lucky enough to get him to stay here. I really think what kept him here is his love for hunting, but don’t think he’ll ever admit that to me!!
In 2011 we had our first son, Kyler Richard– it was a struggle to have him and went through fertility to have him, but it was all worth it!! In 2013 we had our second son, Kollin David– he was a surprise after we figured we would have issues getting pregnant again! A GOOD surprise for sure!! We were wanting more kids, and still do, so when I found out I was pregnant at 8 weeks along, we were more than thrilled!
CAREER: I am going into my 4th year of teaching at the high school I grew up in (born and raised– Bluffer for life! 🙂 ). I teach business/computer class to 9th-12th graders and love it!! It was very weird for me at first to be teaching with teachers that taught me, but after 3 full years, I’ve gotten used to it and appreciate their support. I originally went to school and received my Business Degree (2 years at University of Nebraska- Lincoln and 1 1/2 years at Morningside College) and worked in finance at Long Lines for 6 years. After having Kyler (our first son) I realized that the business world wasn’t where I wanted to be. I went back to an amazing program at Morningside and received my teaching license and I’ve come to conclusion that it’s one of the best decisions I have made!! I love teaching the classes I teach and building relationships with my students and LOVE all holidays AND summers off to be with our boys!!
I currently have started a new journey with Beachbody and am a motivational coach. It’s something me and my sister have began together and something I look forward to building and helping others!
HOBBIES: The obvious– being with my family!! Love going on trips together– Okoboji in the summers and visiting Kip’s family in Utah, along with other random trips we go on. I have a true passion for health and fitness and always have. I have always been active since I was a young kid and it’s continued into my 30’s– yes, I’m 31!!! I love being outside and being with friends– I’m a pretty simple mid-western girl (unless you ask my hubby!! 🙂 ).
WHY THE BLOG?: I wanted to start this not only because I’m having one of my classes next fall build their own, but I enjoy reading mom, fitness, fashion and other types of blogs and thought it would be fun to start my own and see where it goes! I want people to be able to relate to me and see how real I am and how all of us have struggles and have to deal with what life brings.
I hope you enjoy reading my posts and add to them!!
